Netflix Top 10: ‘Reptile’ Debuts With Over 17 Million Total Views as ‘Sex Education’ Co<i></i>ntinues to Lead English TV Chart

“Reptile,” Netflix’s latest crime thriller starring Benicio del Toro, Alicia Silverstone, and Justin Timberlake, flexed its star power with a strong debut on the Netflix Top 10. During the Sept. 25-Oct. 1 viewing window, the film opened at No. 1 on the English Films chart with 17.7 million total views, almost making it the most viewed title of the week. The film fell just behind Spanish dystopian thriller, “Nowhere” which snagged 23.4 million views.

On the TV side, “Sex Education” Season 4 continued to lead the list with 13.4 million views, while Season 1 took ninth place with 1.9 million views. The final installment opened to 12 million total views during the Sept. 18-24 viewing window, subsequently ending the No. 1 streak of One Piece” on Netflix Top 10’s English-language TV chart and bringing the Moordale students’ story to a close on a high note.

The finale featured several new faces alongside the original crew including “Schitt’s Creek” star Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham (“Doctor Who”), Lisa McGrillis (“Somewhere Boy”), Marie Reuther (“Kamikaze”), Jodie Turner-Smith, Eshaan Akbar.

“One Piece” dropped to sixth place in its fifth week on the chart. After scoring a Season 2 pickup, the show earned another 3.8 million total views bringing it to 57.8 million views to date. “Virgin River” Season 5 landed just beneath the live-action anime series with 3 million total views.

British true crime documentary “Who Killed Jill Dando?” cracked the chart this week with 5.5 million total views, landing it in second place this week as Season 5 of “Love is Blind,” another unscripted title, moved to third on the chart with the latest batch of episodes delivering another 5.3 million total views. The dating series previously opened at No. 7 on the previous week’s chart with 3 million views for its first four episodes.

Season 2 of “Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal” fell to fourth place on the list in its first full week of availability with 4.5 million total views. It’s also worth noting that Season 1 of the documentary series did not reappear on the chart during the viewing window despite coming in at No. 10 the previous week.

Also making its debut on the Top 10 is “Encounters” and “Castlevania: Nocturne,” which landed at No. 5 (4.4 million views) and No. 8 (2.6 million views) on the chart, respectively. Finally, “The Pacific” dropped to 10th place on the list in its second week among the list of popular titles with 1.7 million views
