UPDATED: The DJ for rapper Jack Harlow has been charged with murdering a woman on May 1 during a party at a nightclub in the rapper’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, according to WDRB/Louisville and multiple media reports.

Ronnie Tyshon O’Bannon, 27 — who worked under the name Ronni Luciano — was indicted Tuesday on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection to the fatal shooting of Kasmira Nash, 37, according to a news release from Jefferson Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Wine cited by the publication.

O’Bannon is being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, according to the department. His bond has been set at $500,000, and he is expected to be formally arraigned May 17 in Jefferson Circuit Court.

O’Bannon turned himself in to local police after a warrant was issued for an arrest, according to a statement from Louisville police.

O’Bannon’s attorney, Rob Eggert, told WDRB O’Bannon will plead not guilty to the charges.“I’m confident he’ll be exonerated,”he said.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Harlow addressed the shooting in a post on his Instagram story, saying his “heart is broken by the events” and says he’s been in touch with the victim’s family. He did not mention O’Bannon.

Thank you for speaking up. It means a lot to all of us. Love you @jackharlow pic.twitter/A5FamX9kbQ

Nash, a mother of two, was working at the nightclub Vibes when the shooting occurred, her mother told WDRB News. She died at the scene from a gunshot wound, according to a statement from Louisville Metro Police. Video footage posted on TMZ shows an altercation, with Harlow nearby, before a shot was fired.

Davis said she was upset with the club’s security for letting O’Bannon in the building.

“They knew there had been an altercation prior to this with this same DJ, so he was not supposed to be allowed back in the club,” Davis said. “… I felt like he should have been removed or they should have taken my daughter and told her to go home.”

A second shooting victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Smiley’s statement.
