‘Gen V’ Trailer: College-Set ‘The Boys’ Spinoff Promises Insane Amounts of Blood, Guts and Hormones

Get ready to throw your graduation caps in the air, because the Boys are going to college.

Prime Video dropped the official trailer for “Gen V,” the spinoff series of its popular dark superhero show “The Boys.” Star Chance Perdoma has previously said that the show is going to be “fucked up.” Now, fans can see just how “fucked up” the college-focused series is really going to be. From crawling inside a human head to murderous puppets, “Gen V” seems to assure fans of “The Boys” that there’s no shortage of superhero debauchery.

“It’s gonna be a rollercoaster,” star Lizzie Broadway said in an Instagram clip announcing the series back in July 2022. “It’s gonna be filled with blood, guts and everything else.”

“Gen V” is set at Godolkin University, America’s only college exclusively for superheroes, run by Vought International. According to the show’s official longline, the irreverent, R-rated series is set to explore the lives of “hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part ‘Hunger Games’ — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of ‘The Boys.’”

Starring alongside Perdomo and Broadway are Jaz Sinclair, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi. “Gen V” also features guest stars Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, with Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles from “The Boys.”

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers on the series. Other EPs include “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke as well as Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe and Michaela Starr. Brant Engelstein serves as co-executive producer. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures and Original Film. Loreli Alanís serves as executive in charge for Point Grey Pictures.

“Gen V” marks the third series set in the universe of “The Boys,” alongside the original series and an animated spinoff titled “The Boys Presents: Diabolical.”

“Gen V” will drop its first three episodes Sept. 29 on Prime Video. Watch the full trailer below.
