Bernie Marsden, Whitesnake Guitarist and ‘Here I Go Again’ Co-Writer, Dies at 72

Bernie Marsden, the original guitarist for English hard rock band Whitesnake, died “peacefully” on Aug. 24, according to a social media post from his family. He was 72.

“On behalf of his family, it is with deep sadness we announce the death of Bernie Marsden,” said the statement on Marsden’ssocial media pages. “Bernie died peacefully on Thursday evening with his wife, Fran, and daughters, Charlotte and Olivia, by his side. Bernie never lost his passion for music, writing and recording new songs until the end.”
