 Archana Ghangrekar is an Indian cinematographer based out of Mumbai, India, available to work worldwide. She is a graduate of film cinematography from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Her graduation film Meenalap was critically acclaimed and won many accolades world over including Grand Prix 2018 and Ritvik Ghatak gold medal 2018.Her debut as an independent cinematographer was with Bizarre murder of Pristh Tusker (2015) a visually stunning, noir black and white drama that she shot in her second year of film studies at FTII Pune, starring Victor Banerjee.She shot All India Rank, the debut feature film of Varun Grover, produced by Sriram Raghavan, Sarita Patil and Sanjay Routray's Matchbox shots pvt. ltd. All India Rank had its world premiere as the closing film of prestigious Rotterdam International Film Festival in February 2023. All India Rank had its theatrical release in February '24 and eventually released on Netflix in April '24.In transit- a queer themed series that she shot on the journeys of some of the most exceptional trans and non-binary people in India, directed by Ayesha Sood and produced by Tigerbaby films is releasing on Amazon prime soon this year.Her simple yet quirky work on Gupt gyaan (Sikhya, directed by Saqib Pandor); tender and sensitive gaze on Phir Kabhi ( produced by Anurag Kashyap, Shikha Jain, directed by Nihit Bhave) and LailaManju ( a coming out feature film directed by Kamya Nair) is much lauded and loved by the audience and critics alike.An inde feature she shot in Sikkim with the director duo Tribeny Rai and Kislay in the winters of 23-24 is in the post production stage currently.Two of her recent short films- Gudgudi (directed by Abhiroop Basu and starring Rajshri Deshpande) and Ayesha ( produced by Vikramaditya Motwane, directed by Nihit Bhave and starring Fatima Sana Shaikh) are competing in major film festivals of 23-24.
