Anton Vasilev

Anton Vasilyev was born in Leningrad, Soviet Union. His parents were not related to the creative environment (his father worked as an engineer, and his mother taught at school), but the boy showed artistic inclinations from childhood. While studying at school, he studied at the Theater of Youth Creativity. The actor himself said that he got into the theater studio due to the fact that in the fifth grade he was in love with a girl who studied there. This prompted him to enroll in the studio after her, despite the fact that parents did not really share his views. He applied to the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts (now the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts), where Veniamin Filshtinskiy became his mentor.
