Robert 'Bob' Anderson was born in Detroit Michigan to Robert and Dorothy Anderson. The son of an auto factory worker and homemaker, Bob grew up surrounded by the auto industry. He actually grew up a half mile away from the General Motors Tech Center, the auto manufacturers' square-mile design and engineering campus. This sparked Bob's love of architecture, as the architect for this project was renowned architect and designer Eero Saarinen. He tells people, "I always thought it was cool looking back on my younger days that some of the coolest muscle cars of the 60's and 70's were on the board less than a mile away (at the GM Tech Center)". Bob was unexpectedly hit by a car as a pedestrian in college, his first of two near-death experiences, and that changed course of his life. He eventually became an automotive designer, but without a degree and tired of the auto industry ups and downs, he started his own business with 32 dollars and a lot of sweat equity. He eventually included FORTUNE 100 and 500 companies among his clients, and eventually sold his business and moved to California. Design and inventing is still one of his biggest passions, and is currently patent pending with his first patent.A modestly published author, Bob has nearly completed his first book on growing up in Detroit, the love of the sport of hockey (Go Wings!) and the incredible and unexpected influence and blessing playing the sport over 20 years has had in his life. He met Tommy Hearns and Marylou Henner in Michigan. As Bob tells it, "He had two big body guards with him at a Mercedes dealership. I guess when your the champ, every idiot who thinks he can beat you might want to try! He was really a nice and gracious man. Even laughed when I he said to him " so I can give you an upper cut and motioned so... His somewhat stoic body guards even laughed knowing I was no threat to the champ". Marylou Henner; "As gracious as she is beautiful". He also met Ted Nugent, Richard Roundtree, and Mickey Rooney; all at the Sacramento airport. "Mr. Nugent and Mr. Roundtree were really great, unassuming guys, and we had a nice chat, but Mickey Rooney was a grouch. I guess he wasn't too happy about flying coach despite an unprecedented career of earnings". Still, he felt lucky saying "I'm still in awe of his body of work!".
