
DAVID BLAK (Plascencia) was born in La Colonia Independencia, Tijuana, Mexico. He was raised by a single mother and singer of boleros. At the age of seven, he moved to California to live with his father who was an Aerospace Engineer. Severely grieving the loss of moving from his home country, the warmth of a kind mother and adjusting to American culture, Plascencia found solace in writing and producing hip-hop music. After leaving music behind, he turned his attention to acting and filmmaking. Since 2012, Plascencia has worked on over 40 TV commercials and films including "McFarland USA", "Being Black Enough" and John Legend's music video "Surefire."In reaction to the lack of Latino diversity in the industry, Plascencia collaborated with Mary-Lyn Chambers debuting "Tijuana," a short film saluting his great-grandparents where he performed the role of his great grandfather.
