He broadened his horizons by pursuing photography in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has collaborated on plays and musicals with stage stalwarts like Alyque Padamsee, Raell Padamsee and Royston Abel, Lushin Dubey and Bubbles Sabharwal on Indian and International platforms.Sanjeev Maurya's first break came as a Casting Assistant with Judith Bouley CSA, for the film 'The Way Back' starring Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris and Colin Farrell. Thereafter, he worked on films like 'Eat, Pray, Love' , 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'- part 1 and 2 as a Casting Associate. He further collaborated with the renowned Casting Director Dilip Shankar on films like Life of Pi (2012), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), Angry Indian Goddess(2015) , The Reluctant Fundamentalist(2012), Vara: A blessing(2013), I Origins(2014), Unfreedom(2014) and A Suitable Boy (2021) to name a few.Sanjeev went on to become the Casting Director for Trial By Fire (2023), Class (2023), Skater Girl (2021), Axone(2019) for Netflix and Gulmohar (2023) for Hotstar Disney. Also Musicals like Zunjoora, Jhumroo for Kingdom of Dreams and Aladdin for Disney. Also casting TV Commercials for directors like Shimit Amin, Prasoon Pandey, Vinil Mathew, Amit Sharma, Hemant Bhandari, Ayappa, Kishore Iyer, Ashim Ahluwalia, Shikha Makan and Bharat Sikka to name a few.His upcoming projects include the ensemble cast for Jail Diaries ( Series for Amazon Mini) & Caste (Directed by Academy Award Nominee Ava DuVernay).
