Has held several executive positions within the corporate and government sectors and faculty/administrative positions at the University of Notre Dame and Oklahoma State University.Grew up in western Montana with 1 sister: Geralynne and 6 brothers: Chris, Michael, Sid (deceased 2023), Kevin, Mark (deceased 1975) and Sean (deceased 1995).On his own at age 16, he finished high school and supported himself by working the night shift at a sawmill his junior and senior years.Spent his late teens through early thirties in western Montana working various jobs including ranch hand, sawmill worker, and hard rock miner.Earned a bachelor's and three graduate degrees while working full-time, including a doctorate in Adult Learning and Psychology from Montana State University.Alone he traversed 3700 mile Lewis and Clark route from St. Louis, MO to the Pacific Ocean.
