Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Jackie made her acting debut at age 17 in the Paramount film Freedom Writers. She went to Fairfax Visual Arts Magnet High School where she participated in several after-school programs at Greenway Arts Theatre, located just next door to Fairfax High School. At Greenway, Jackie began training in theater, poetry, and filmmaking and it was through one of her mentors that she received word of an open-casting call for what would become Freedom Writers. Thinking it would be fun to audition for a movie, not expecting anything other than a cool experience, Jackie went to the casting call and landed her first role.
