Peter Reznikoff was born in New York City. His father was painter, Misha Reznikoff, and his mother, the photographer, Genevieve Naylor. Exposed to a number of well know actors, painters, photographers and musicians, as a child - all friends of his parents - it was only natural he would find a career in the arts. By the time he was 5, he knew he wanted to be actor, though his entire perspective on acting changed at 16, after seeing the film version of Laurence Olivier's Othello. It was a jaw dropping experience that would lead him on a lifelong quest to acquire the technical skills so effortlessly achieved by Olivier. But more than that, it was Olivier's ability to execute any acting choice with fearless freedom that made him realize how important it was to be a thoroughly well trained actor.
