Michael Meher McGuire is a film producer, writer, and director. He co-produced Paul T. Goldman (2023) for Peacock, a hybrid docuseries directed by Jason Woliner. He is best known as a producer of Electrick Children (2012), Color Out of Space (2019), and Resurrection (2022).McGuire was born and raised in the Midwest. The son of an artist and a pianist-turned-physician, he graduated the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000 and earned an MFA from the American Film Institute in 2009. After graduating from AFI, McGuire has been a busy and successful filmmaker. He produced a number of independent feature films including Guadalupe the Virgin (2011) starring Diana Garcia and Noah Segan, Electrick Children (2012) with Julia Garner in her first leading role, and the coming of age dramedy, Summer of 8 (2016). He also produced a music video, The Promise (2017), for the late Chris Cornell of Soundgarden.As part of Elijah Wood's producing team at SpectreVision, McGuire oversaw the production of the cult hit Mandy (2018) starring Nicolas Cage as well as Daniel Isn't Real (2019), Bitch (2017), and the VR video game Transference (2018) in partnership with Ubisoft.McGuire made his debut as a feature-film writer and director with Aquarians (2017), which critics referred to as an "intelligent, introspective and compelling drama." He resides in Los Angeles with his wife Melissa and their two sons.
