L.A. Sweeney

L.A. Sweeney is a Canadian actress as well as a poet. Born in Toronto, Canada, she is the daughter of a Jamaican mother and an Irish father. L.A. is a Monologue Slam champion and is motivated to tell stories through her acting that elevate and amplify the presence of women of colour in film and television.L.A. made her on screen debut as the lead in the feature film Last Resort (2022) for which she was nominated for an ALTFF Best actress award. She has since landed roles in the feature film The Manny (2022), the TV series Shelved (2023) and the upcoming TV series Cross (2024). She continues to gain momentum landing her second lead role in the feature film One deadly decision (2023). L.A. is slated to begin shooting a pilot series later this year and shows no signs of slowing down.
