 Kate Roman is a teenage dancer, actor and singer from Toronto, Canada who's been performing on stage and screen since age 4. She is a highly-skilled, technically trained dancer in 7 genres with over 10 years pre-pro level training. Her latest project is 13: The Musical, a highly anticipated new feature film from Netflix coming in 2022. 13TM is a Broadway-adaption produced by the Emmy/Tony winning team of producer Neil Meron (Chicago, Hairspray), writer Robert Horn and Jason Robert Brown (music); directed by Tamra Davis (High School Musical: The Series). This is Kate's second Netflix project following Feel The Beat in 2019 (directed by Elissa Down).Other credits include: Ameiia Parker/The Parker Andersons alongside Millie Davis, Sad Girl music video as Charlotte Cardin's doppelg?nger (Atlantic Records), The Big Fun Crafty Show (NBC Universal), and Gerry Dee's Kids That Are Amazing at Stuff (CBC), where she played comedy improv with Gerry himself and garnered her own laughs at only age 7.Kate also co-produced and starred in an independent film "Butterfly" for which she won a Joey Award for Best Actress in a Short Film (2019) and was nominated for a Young Artist Award (2020). She appreciates both sides of the camera and enjoys telling her own stories through film. She is an impressive quick study at most anything new she takes on - including wake surfing which she has mastered in a few short days during the Covid summer of 2020. Coming from a talented family, her older sister Emily Roman has an impressive track record in the arts in professional dance and acting.In musical theatre, Kate has performed in high quality productions of The Lion King (Nala) and Aladdin (Narrator), winning audience hearts. Performing dance on stage was Kate's first passion, and she has garnered several 1st overall solo and duet awards, is ranked top 10 in North America (The Dance Awards Orlando and Las Vegas) and received team gold in Germany (IDO World Showdance). Kate is well-known by leading celebrity choreographers like Travis Wall, Paul Becker, Jamal Sims, Nicky Andersen and many more. She is also a grassroots influencer, with much respect from her peer group and a natural ability to lead her social media platforms with growing success. This has led to sponsorship deals with ballet supplier Bloch Canada, athleisure line Ivivva (Lululemon) and tween fashion brand Justice to name a few. Kate manages her busy schedule while attending an academically-renowned private school in-person full-time, maintaining honor roll status annually. She is the winner of the 2020 annual speech competition and several track and field top placements. Her strong Christian faith keeps her grounded and she likes to give back to the community where ever possible.
