Matt Paul is the founder and principal of Loose Cannon Pictures, an independent film production company known for producing Violet, the feature directorial debut of Justine Bateman (starring Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux and Luke Bracey), which premiered at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. Most recently, Loose Cannon produced Breakwater, directed by James Rowe (starring Dermot Mulroney, Darren Mann, Alyssa Goss, Sonja Sohn, and Mena Suvari), which premiered at Cinequest Film Festival 2023 and won Audience Favorite Feature Film and Best Actor at Boston Film Festival.As a U.S Navy SEAL, Matt served 8 years training and conducting military special operations with a SEAL platoon while participating in cross-functional intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance teams during two Middle Eastern deployments.After leaving the military, he began traveling the world making short films.
