Wout van Aert

Wout van Aert was born on 15 September 1994 in Herentals, Belgium. He is a professional road and off-road cyclist (cyclocross). A three-time UCI world cyclocross champion (consecutive titles), Van Aert is famed for his rivalry with his contemporary the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel, in cyclocross. Van Aert, over time, became active as a road race cyclist. An allrounder of the sport, he won nine stages in the Tour de France and has won major spring classics such as Gent-Wevelgem and E3 Harelbeke, Milan-San Remo and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. In addition, he is a time trial specialist.
