While studying Directing at Reed College, Dunn-Walker signed with Muse Model Management and moved to Paris where she acted in both experimental art house films and big-budget commercials. While working in Paris, she wrote, directed, and produced several plays, and took French language acting courses at Cours Florent drama school and with Jack Waltzer of the Actor's Studio. Her first play, The Dressingroom, premiered at Le Fondation des Etas Unis. This same year Dunn-Walker appeared in two issues of British Vogue as a model. After being told she wasn't skinny enough to continue modeling professionally, Dunn-Walker began focusing more heavily on writing and directing for the theater. Her second play, Across the River Styx, appeared in several theaters across Paris and Montreuil, including La Guillotine and Theatre de la Feux de la Rampe. Her third and longest play, Cowabunga! A Dystopian Comedy won residency at the Chateau Orequevaux and at the Howara Theatre festival in Morocco. Dunn-Walker is a part of the Stories Matter writing program for young women with Leslie Zemeckis and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. As a young queer woman with a disability, Dunn-Walker is committed to uplifting others and working for humanitarian causes. She worked closely with Good Chance Theatre, an organization that works with migrant communities in Europe. As both a writer and an actor, Dunn-Walker is interested in blurring the lines between what is considered masculine and what is considered feminine, as well as the lines between what is human and what is divine. Her upcoming appearances include Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett-Smith, and The Queen Mary directed by Gary Shore. She splits her time between her studio in Downtown Los Angeles, and her residence in the South of FranceSophia Dunn-Walker was born in Rochester, Minnesota. Her father works in infectious diseases and her mother is a painter and multi-disciplinary artist. She has one younger brother, Kip, with whom she is very close. From an early age, Sophia had a vivid imagination, and was very interested in sci-fi and fantasy. This interest was fostered by her parents and their careers. Dunn-Walker spent many summers in France with her extended family, where she developed an early interest in the French language. French filmmaking would also have a deep impact on young Sophia.Born with a genetic condition called familial cone dystrophy, Sophia and the school system struggled with the complexity of her condition. The experience of living with her disability gave Sophia a deep empathy for others living with disabilities and the challenges they go through. She is a life-long advocate for people with disabilities. Sophia is also a survivor of sexual assault and lives as an openly queer woman. She is dedicated to being a role model and voice for others who have survived sexual assault.After obtaining her BA from Reed College in Directing for Theatre and French Literature, Sophia moved to Paris where she was offered a job at the historic Mona Bismarck American Center. While in Paris, she also worked for Good Chance Theatre, an organization that works with refugees and promotes language exchange and expression through the arts. She signed as an actor and model with the talent and modelling agency blackcode and studied at Cours Florent and with Jack Waltzer. Dunn-Walker has modeled for designer brands and appeared in British Vogue. After parting ways with MBAC and completing her degree at Cours Florent, she moved to Los Angeles where she signed with Malaky international Talent.Sophia has worked both in front of the camera and behind the scenes in the independent and mainstream markets. She has been awarded several international awards for her acting and playwriting. Her rich past and experience drives her goal to understanding people's unique talents and ways of expressing themselves, especially in the arts. She is currently working on serving as a voice for the causes she believes in. She is currently working on directing a feature film as well as appearing in several TV shows.
