Klaus Voormann is most famous for designing the cover of the 1966 Beatles album "Revolver" and for playing bass guitar on John Lennon's "Imagine" album. Voormann dated famous photographer Astrid Kirchherr until she fell in love with The Beatles' original bassist, Stuart Sutcliffe, and left him. He first met The Beatles at a gig in Hamburg. He appeared in the 1980 live action version of Popeye (1980).

Later played bass on solo albums by longtime friends George Harrison and John Lennon, including Lennon's historic "Imagine".Dated artist/photographer Astrid Kirchherr; lost her to Beatles then-bassist Stuart Sutcliffe, but they remained friends.
