Michael Toland was born on Long Island New York in a middle class neighborhood. Always performing and telling jokes at family gatherings. "I always loved to get the grownups laughing". Naturally performed in high school plays but loved playing his guitar and singing rock and roll which led to him forming a rock group "Aloft" that got a record deal with Sire records and had the privilege of opening for Jeff Beck, Sly Stone and the Edgar Winter group. He became a session guitar player and popular jingle singer while in NYC. Michael studied fine art at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and received a BFA. While living in NYC Michael studied acting with Stella Adler and was cast in a variety of Off Broadway productions 'House of Blue Leaves" where he met his first agent and was launched into the world of TV commercials. Michael has shot over 400 Network TV commercials to date and still counting. Michael relocated to Los Angeles by HBO to star in their first series "1st and 10" as arrogant wide receiver Billy Cooper opposite Chris Meloni (Law and Order). He then proceeded to guest star on various shows and films then 2 years on "Young and the Restless" followed by 3 seasons of "One World" on NBC as ex pro baseball dad of 5 adopted multi racial teens. Afterwards starring in the series "Desire" for 3 seasons as media mogul Allistaire McCloud. Michael has just finished shooting the first season of legal thriller "Sacrifice" opposite the beautiful and talented Paula Patton (Mission Impossible) as Arnold Land head of a powerful law firm. Due out this Fall.
