She officially retired in the Spring of 2000 after she celebrated her 80th birthday.From April 2000 until her death in August 2018, she lived with her younger siblings in a quaint and quiet retirement complex located in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was described as being "bright and bubbly".Out of all her movies, she has cited Hellzapoppin' (1941) and Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (1941) as her personal favorites.She won a radio contest in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 1939, shortly after her high school graduation and was signed to a film contract that same day.In a matter of sheer coincidence, Miller's "Never Give a Sucker an Even Break" (1941) co-star Gloria Jean died five days after her own passing.Upon her death, she was cremated by the Neptune Society of Phoenix, Arizona, and her ashes returned to her surviving sister.She was considered for the role of Linda Mason in the 1942 musical "Holiday Inn" with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire but lost the part to Marjorie Reynolds.
