?ke Lindman was a very skilled football player and played in the Finnish national team, he was offered a contract by the English Premier League team Swindon in the 60s but he turned it down and chose to become an actor.?ke Lindman had a promising career as a football player before he chose to quit and focus on acting. S?rkk?, the producer of most of Lindman's films of the 1950's and 1960's.After working as an assistant director of a couple of feature films, Lindman made his directorial debut with Kertokaa se h?nelle... (1961), a music drama based on a hit cover of the same Italian song that Elvis Presley covered as "Surrender". After the great success of his directorial debut, Lindman made three other movies for S?rkk?'s company.In 1963 Finnish movie industry collapsed and like most of the cast and crew, Lindman moved to television for which he made his most important and best-remembered films. Stormsk?rs Maja (1975) was an epic story of a poor fisherman and his wife; the Swedish-language mini-TV-series proved Lindman's skills as a director.
