She studied acting at Howard University and began her Hollywood career in guest roles on several television shows before making her breakthrough in Baby Boy (2001). She graduated from Howard University in 1995.Dated William Johnson from February 1987 to November 1994.Taraji's great-great-grandfather, Joseph Henson, was a half-brother of North Pole explorer Matthew Henson. Matthew was a prominent African-American explorer.Has a son: Marcell Johnson (b.
