Gregory Cupoli was born and raised in the suburbs of New Jersey. He was trained as an actor by the renowned William Esper at Mason Gross School of the Arts within Rutgers University, where he received his BFA in Acting. Described by Esper as a "talented and charming performer", his thesis role while at the university was that of Tajomaru in the stage production of "Rashomon." His performance was hailed by the press, which said he "played the bandit with fierce, animalistic passion almost like a man driven by demons, yet he never over-acted or over-romanticized his part. A solid performance by a talented young artist!" During the summer of 1981, while performing with The Rutgers Theatre Company, he created the role of Fifi LaBella in the English Language premiere of Pirandello's "Cap and Bells." Shortly after arriving to Hollywood in 1990, he quickly secured his SAG card portraying a role on the CBS show, Major Dad (1989). In his first studio film, What Women Want (2000), he portrayed the chauvinistic Male Role Model for Mel Gibson's character as a child. A staple in Hollywood for the past thirty years, he is known for his character roles, having voiced the role of the thug, Mr. Frog, in the Oscar nominated animation, A Cat in Paris (2010) starring Anjelica Huston. Be it a performance in a sitcom like Everybody Hates Chris (2005) or Chelsea Handler's After Lately (2011) or a daytime drama role in Days of Our Lives (1965) or Passions (1999), Gregory Cupoli has always been one to rise to the occasion, whatever the role might demand.
