Reiko was born in Chicago, IL. where she and her younger brother were raised by their mother who worked in a methadone clinic and later ran a rehabilitation corrections facility. At 13, she was introduced to the world of acting and theater by her soon-to-be step-father. The family moved to Seattle, WA., where she spent her teen years and briefly attended University of Washington. At 19, while performing on stage at the Intiman theater, she was scouted and cast in an ABC daytime drama and relocated to NYC. There, she had the privilege to work with many esteemed writers, directors and fellow actors. After building a career in regional and off-Broadway theater as well as film and television, her breakthrough came with the role of Michelle Dessler on the hit show 24. She's also had ongoing roles on Lost, Damages, Hawaii 5-0 and has worked on many other television shows, films and plays. In 2020, she expanded her career to include VoiceOver work, including Lady Bullseye in the Marvel animated show, Hit Monkey. Her husband, Rob Clare is a well-respected Shakespeare teacher and director who received his doctorate from Oxford University. They are an adoptive family with a child who was born in 2014.
