Tivia: According to the director of Van Nuys Blvd. (1979) on the commentary track, Aesop hung out with the Manson "family" (Charles Manson, et al.) in the 1960s, but got out when he realized things were getting too strange. As it turned out he would later play a Manson-like character in Bloodbath (1977).Real name is Mark Rosen. Besides Aesop Aquarian, he also goes by 'Mark Ross'.Has a younger brother named Don who is a licensed marriage and family therapist.While in boarding school he formed a band with Frank Sinatra Jr called The Outhouse Four.Studied acting at the predecessor to the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Canada.Served three years in the United States Marine Corps.Was a member of the cult the Source Family.In 1976 he performed his song "The Shortest Cowboy Song" on The Gong Show.In 1972 he co-founded a Los Angeles-based street performance duo with pantomimist Sheldon Rosner called Singer and the Silent Partner.Was affiliated with the Manson Family. He broke off contact during the Helter Skelter murder trial when he was asked to kill the prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi and the judge.Maternal grandfather was a Jewish Lithuanian immigrant who became a New York merchandising tycoon who owned Spears & Co., the country's largest home furnishings chain in the early 1950s.
