Britain's Rupert Graves made his professional stage debut in 1983 in The Killing of Mr. Toad and went on to co-star with Harvey Fierstein in the London production of Torch Song Trilogy. By the mid-80s he was a presence in quality films and TV, including Merchant Ivory films Room With A View where he played Freddy Honeychurch and Maurice where he played Alec Scudder.Rupert has appeared in dozens of films and TV shows including Emma (2020), Riviera S3 (2020), Swimming With Men (2018), The Family (2016), however most recently Rupert is best known for playing DI Greg Lestrade in BBC's Sherlock.Rupert has over 20 stage credits to his name, including The Elephant Man and Closer on Broadway, and he was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor in 1998 for his performance in Hurlyburly.
