Born in Rye, New York, writer/director/producer/author Justine Bateman's directorial feature film debut of her own script, Violet (2021), stars Olivia Munn, Luke Bracey, and Justin Theroux. The film premiered at SXSW and The Toronto Film Festival in 2021. It was released in theaters, to much acclaim, in Oct 2021.Her best-selling first book, "Fame," a non-fiction about society's need for its presence, was published in 2018 by Akashic Books.
